By Brighton and Manchester United will meet for the second time in 4 days when they face each other in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. Kick off is at 19:45 on Sky Sports live from the Amex stadium.
In the last round United beat Luton Town 3-0 with goals from Mata, Rashford and Greenwood. Brighton advanced after a 2-0 win v Preston North End. It’s nice to see both teams taking this competition seriously. Although its not as glamorous as the FA Cup it is still a chance to win a trophy and that’s what it’s all about. In the league meeting on Saturday Brighton were the much better team and will still be wondering how they left empty handed.
Given the busy schedule we can expect changes from both managers. Although with United’s match fitness nowhere near what it should be, I wouldn’t expect wholesale changes.
After reports and speculation my predicted line up is: Henderson, Wan Bissaka, Bailly, Maguire, Williams, Matic, Van de Beek, Greenwood, Mata, Lingard and Martial. My score prediction is Brighton 1-3 Manchester United.
