Manchester United have recently been linked with a move for Brighton defender Ben White. The 23 year old has worked his way through the Brighton academy and is now a regular in the first team. Last season White was on loan at Leeds where he played all 46 games as they were promoted back to the Premier League.
It’s fair to say Brighton are not having the best of season’s with the seaside club flirting dangerously with relegation. They currently sit 17th in the Premier League only out of the bottom 3 on goal difference.
Although Brighton have had a poor season, Ben White has been one of the few shining lights along the way. This is Whites first season as a Premier League player but it looks like he’s been at this level for years. When Brighton won at Anfield earlier in the season, White received high praise from the Liverpool fans after his outstanding performance.
Ben White is a ball playing CB with plenty of pace and has an excellent reading of the game. He also has a controlled aggression which gives him that extra bite in every tackle he makes. Centre forwards certainly know they’ve been in a game once they’ve faced him!
The Brighton defender has put in a number of good performances this season and It’s clear to see why he’s attracted interest from Manchester United. If Brighton were to get relegated this season United may be able to get him at a cut price in the summer. But should the Seagulls stay in the Premier League the asking price would surely be much higher. Brighton have 11 games remaining and if they are to keep hold of their prize assets it’s the Premier League where they need to be.
