In recent weeks Sergio Ramos has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United. This isn’t the first time it’s happened but this time a move looks more promising than it ever did before. Ramos spent sixteen years at Real Madrid before ending his love affair with the Spanish giants earlier this month. He made 671 appearances for Real Madrid scoring an incredible 101 goals along the way. Most defenders could only dream of scoring that many goals let alone doing it for one of the biggest clubs in the world!
His time at Madrid was littered with success as he won twenty-two major honors including the Champions League four times and La Liga five times. His international career wasn’t bad either winning one World Cup and two European Championships in the space of four years.
Ramos is a serial winner and even at 35 is hunger and desire is still as big as ever. United have been missing someone like Ramos for years. A player who has excellent leadership qualities and who can take games and situations by the scruff of the neck. He’d be a perfect fit for Solskjaer’s side and his experience would be invaluable to the younger members of the squad.
There’s a number of clubs interested in signing the former Madrid man with PSG and Manchester United at the front of the queue. With Ramos now a free agent it shouldn’t be hard to strike a deal. He’d be an excellent fit for United and would certainly toughen up their back four. Will Ramos end up at Old Trafford or will he favour a move elsewhere?
