Manchester United have recently shown an interest in Dutch youngster Teun Koopmeiners. The 23 year old currently plays for AZ Alkmaar and is a big part of their team. Last season he scored eleven times in the Eredivisie and this season he has the same amount of goals with two games left to play.
The Dutchman has really caught the eye over the last 2 years and its looking increasingly likely that he will leave AZ Alkmaar sooner rather than later. Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City have all shown an interest in the youngster and its easy to see why.
Nemanja Matic has been a big part of United’s team but the Serbian is now 32 and the pace of the Premier League is picking up every season. Wijnaldum has been integral to Liverpool’s success but a move to Barcelona looks to be on the cards and Fernandinho who has won 10 major honors with City turns 36 this month.
By trade Koopmeiners is a Defensive midfielder but he can also play in the centre of midfield and at centre back. His versatility is certainly something that will stick out to the interested clubs. Both Nemanja Matic and Fernandinho have played in roles away from their natural position on more than one occasion. Various reports suggest that AZ Alkmaar would be looking for a fee in the region of 16 million pound to take the youngster from the Eredivisie to the Premier League.
